Burning Man: in the field

Shots taken and uploaded through wi-fi while on the road and in the field at Burning Man.

Expect lots of building, perimeter and Gate photos before the event starts. Expect almost nothing once it does get started because wi-fi is too crowded.
You should not be expecting any fancy editing. Although I will be trying out the three filters built into the Canon 60D.

  • On the only hill in town sits a historic Catholic church. Its back yard overlooks plains leading to the foot of the mountains.
  • With a history as a Union Pacific stop, several tracks run through town. This station house was converted to a clubhouse.
  • Motels and gas stations dominate the highways that cross here, but off the main road little homes with gardens predominate.
  • Alturas. Only incorporated city in Modoc country.
  • Chemult. A tiny town on the highway that barely eks out a living. Seems that for sale signs are ever-present on 95, but Chemult hangs on.
  • Chemult has its share of quaint motels and faux-trading posts.
  • Also found in Chemult: many little cafes serving tourists and truckers that stop at the nearby Highway Reststop.
